Patents, trademarks and trade secrets are central to the profitability of pharmaceutical products and our policy is to pursue intellectual property protection aggressively for all our products. Aderis owns a large patent estate as well as pending applications relating to compounds active at adenosine and dopamine receptor subtypes. We have acquired options and licenses to patents encompassing other strategic compounds. Our patent estate includes international filings that comprise both granted patents and applications for key properties. These include basic pharmaceutical composition of matter patents, method of use and method of treatment patents. In addition, we hold patent positions on bulk drug manufacturing processes and the proprietary transdermal delivery system for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
